Several publishing options are available, including Published, Promoted to front page, and Sticky at top of lists (see Figure 1-14). Published means the node is available to all users. Promoted to front page means the node is listed on the default front page. A node that is set to Sticky at top of lists will appear at the top of lists whenever there is a listing of nodes, such as the front page.

The business assembly implements the IStockTrader interface that is defined in the StockTraderTypes definition assembly. This logic was previously implemented directly in the Web service class file. But this design is very limiting because it isolates the business logic inside a

Underneath the Description text area are a number of vertical tabs that control many of the default settings when creating a node (see Figure 4-3 for details). The first vertical tab is Submission form settings, which controls many settings on the content creation page (in other words, example.com/node/add). You can give the Title field label setting any arbitrary name. If Preview before submitting is set to Disabled, the preview link at the bottom of the content creation form will not appear. If set to Optional, which is the default, a Preview link will appear and allow users to preview the node before the form is submitted. The Explanation or submission guidelines setting appears at the top of the content creation form. Every content type created is automatically given a Body field, which is (usually) used for main or primary data. When creating a node, the Body field allows you to enter the full body text used when the node is displayed. Optionally, you can edit the summary view of the Body field, which is displayed in lists and (frequently) through the Views module.

In this chapter, you explored the myriad methods by which the XMLHttpRequest object and server can communicate with each other. The XMLHttpRequest object can send requests using either the HTTP GET or POST methods, while the request data can be sent as a query string, XML, or JSON data. After handling the request, the server will typically respond by sending simple text, XML data, or even JSON data. Each format may be best suited for certain situations.

specialized class file. The business assembly provides a standard middle-tier component that can be referenced and invoked by a wide variety of consumers, not just Web services. Creating the business assembly requires three steps: 1. Create a new Class Library project in Visual Studio 2005 called StockTraderBusiness, and add to it a single class file also called StockTraderBusiness. 2. Set a reference to the StockTraderTypes assembly. For now you can create all projects in the same solution, and then set a reference to the StockTraderTypes project (from the Projects tab in the Add Reference dialog box). 3. Import the StockTraderTypes namespace into the StockTraderBusiness class file and implement the IStockTrader class. Implement code for each of the interface operations. You will get compiler errors if you attempt to build the solution without implementing all of the operations. Drupal provides four default publishing options. When creating a node, these four publishing options are spread across two tabs: Revision information and Publishing options. If users do not have the administer nodes permission, discussed in the next chapter, they may or may not be able to change these settings when creating a node (see Figure 4-4).
